The Sunday Night Manifesto
Something is wrong on Sunday evening. Everybody has agreed to call it nothing.
The dread that arrives around six on a Sunday is not a personal failing. It is information: the most honest signal the modern workplace produces, and the only one nobody collects.
We collect it.
The position
What we are against.
Corporate life has been sweetened until it no longer tastes of anything.
- What it is
- What it is called
- Being reorganised
- An exciting new chapter
- Being laid off
- A rightsizing
- A manager who shouts
- Passionate about delivery
- The fourteenth meeting about the meeting
- Alignment
None of it is lying. It is worse than lying. It is language built so that nothing can be said with it.
We are against the sweetening, and against being told that what you feel on Sunday night is a mindset problem. It is a Monday problem, and the Monday belongs to somebody with a name.
The commitments
What we are for.
Saying it.
Out loud, in the vocabulary of a clinic, because a complaint in a doctor’s handwriting is the only kind some of us can bring ourselves to make. The joke is the anaesthetic. The complaint underneath is real.
Naming it.
Dissatisfaction with no address is a mood. Dissatisfaction with an employer attached is a fact about a place. So we ask which company, and we publish what accumulates.
Nobody paying for it.
Not with money, not with an account, not with a work email, not with a résumé held hostage until you review your own employer. The moment you have to give something to read what everyone said, it stops being a public record and becomes a product.
Nobody at risk for it.
The promise everything else rests on, so it is built rather than pledged. We do not know your address, your browser, your session or the hour you came. What you type is reduced to noise before it leaves your device, and there is no account to subpoena and no log to seize because we did not build them. Anonymity you have to trust us about is not anonymity. Ours is arithmetic.
The limits
What we are not.
Not a review site. Not a tribunal. Never a place to accuse a named person of anything. We ask about companies, never colleagues, and there is no box for a name.
Not therapy, not medicine, not advice. If what you are carrying is heavier than a Monday, the site stops joking and hands you a real number to call. That is not a disclaimer bolted on the end. It is load-bearing.
Not neutral. The Sunday feeling is evidence, and the people producing it should have to read the total.
The point
One person dreading Monday is a private misery. Every wellbeing programme ever written is designed to keep it that way.
Ten thousand people dreading Monday, counted, dated to the week and sorted by employer, is a public fact.
We are not asking anyone to be resilient. We are asking them to be counted.
Clinic hours: Sunday, 18:00 until late

Read the pulse for the total so far, or state your own symptoms. Ninety seconds, and it adds to nothing unless you ask it to.
